The Time Stamp question type is used to determine how long it has taken the respondent or interviewer (CAPI situation) to reach a certain point in the survey.

 

To use, simply place a time stamp question type in the position of the survey that you wish to record the time taken to reach and select from the drop down the point at which you want the timer to start.  This might be the first question or some other question prior to the time stamp.

 

A variable will be placed in your data table with the name of the time stamp and the time taken to reach this point.
