Embed enables the user to place answers from previous questions into the answer text or the question text of subsequent questions. It is a a feature of the rich text editor for all questions.

 

The embed feature is an element of the rich text editor.  It is indicated in the top menu by the icon:

 

 

To use place the cursor at the point in the text that you are editing and click on this icon.  A drop down list will appear that enables you to select the item from the survey that you wish to embed.

 

 

 

Type your question and at the point where you wish the previuos answer to be inserted click on the itm to reveal the pop up shown above.

 

Select the relevant question from the drop down and press the tick.  The embedded text  will be represented by the question name surounded by square brackets as in the example below.

 

 

 

You can then format the embedded text anyway you wish.  Here it has been bolded and underlined.  When the survey is run the result will look like this.

 

 

The selected item is embedded and formatted.

 

 

You can embed any answer type including:

 

Normal text answers,

Rich text answers,

Image answers, and,

Other (Write in) answers - ie: the typed in answer.

 

 

 

Note that you can also use the embed to embed answers into an "answer" for a subsequent question.
